Last Light

I come from a smaller town, but I was never involved in agriculture. I grew up playing sports and not worrying too much about academics. I never imagined I would be where I am today. I never thought I would be getting my masters, taking up photography, trying to start my own business, or enrolling in an agriculture class. Throughout this term, I have learned so many new things. This night is particularly special to me. It was fascinating to be in the field during a cotton harvest. Even though I was coughing and sneezing most of the time, I really enjoyed the experience. I loved watching the whole process and realized how important their jobs are. How much time it takes to harvest a cotton field is just mind blowing to me. As the sun set, the farmers continued as if there the light never changed. The colors were wonderful that night and it gave the harvest a softer feeling. The combine kicked up dust and spread cotton particulars through the air. It was a great opportunity to capture the harvest at last light.
